What a great time of the year for photographs! I adore the colours of fall especially in this area, where the trees slowly turn from lush green to vibrant yellows and oranges and eventually leaves cover every inch of concrete and I'm wearing mittens and toques and, heaven forbid, shoes that don't come out of my extensive selection of flip flops...

You may notice that I've already submitted some photos of my sea kayaking adventure, a "series" of my favorites while out on the thankfully calm ocean waters. Due to a serious lack of battery power, I didn't get as many photos as I would have liked. I need to consider a backup for such events where electricity is not an option.

It was an awesome trip though! Rained a bit of the time, mostly at night, which sucked because the girl tent was the leakiest tent of the bunch so I was damp and cold from Monday to Friday. Other than that, there was a good bunch of people involved which made the trip more like civilian camping than military training!

Sad day, Oilers lost. :(

Another update, I've been bored lately.

Happy 09/09/09! Here's a shout out to my buddy Ross! Today's the day that the Beatles Remastered Collection hits the stores! I probably won't get it because it's more than likely rediculously priced but I am commemorating today by listening to the songs that I do have and wearing my Beatles T-shirt! <3

I've been into drawing tattoos again lately. My own included! I've finished the design and can't wait to get it done, (a hummingbird on my left shoulder) I just have to find a tattoo artist I like. And after seeing my design, I've been asked to draw another tattoo! It's not going to be 100% my work because he wants his family's crest on his chest but I'm beefing it up to make it look more 3 dimensional. It's flattering that somebody else wants my art on their skin forever!

Hey all,

Just an update. Not a good one.

Hope everyone's summer is super fantastic.

Adventure Training has been postponed until sometime in October which totally blows because I was really looking forward to it, the weather isn't going to be as nice, and I started spending a lot of money on supplies and kit (I paid for the $300.00 grocery bill 2 days before finding out it was postponed but hopefully am slowly being paid back) So all those awesome scenic pictures I promised won't be posted until sometime in November lol.

Hurrah for August Vacation!

Break ups are always so hard.

When I roll over he's no longer there, he's not even on the futon when I wake up in the morning because he was afraid his snoring was too loud for me to sleep. He doesn't cook me breakfast, we don't take long sunny walks to the harbour. Like a spirit, he's gone and the only way I know that he was ever here is the imprint he's left on my heart.

So needless to say, August vacation didn't start out very well but I'm moving on, it's been a learning curve for sure.

On a lighter note, later this month, after a bit of a much needed rest, I've got a lot of fun stuff going on:
:bulletred: Vancouver's Pride Parade is this weekend! I'll be going tomorrow to enjoy the festivities!
:bulletred: ASU Chilliwack's 12th Annual Street Dance, which I've heard is an awesome time, is kicking off on 15 Aug 09 at 1800. If you're in the area, and you're over 19, get tickets (early bird $12.00, $15.00 at the door) they sell out really fast!
:bulletred: Adventure Training is this month too! We're going to Seshelt to do some Sea Kayaking! I heard about this when I got to the Unit in January and have been totally pumped ever since! I hope I get to take a lot of awesome pictures of seals and whales and kickin' scenery!

As for art, poetry and the like, expect my usual occassional update. Due to the scorching heat and my total lack of focus, I haven't really been in the mood to start anything let alone complete it as of late. I've got some ideas in my head but I'm really focused on finishing up the decoration of my apartment that's been on going for 6 months now. With only 6 months left in my lease, I want to put as many holes in the walls as possible then maybe see about buying my own house!

Hurrah for July Vacation!

Mon Jul 6, 2009, 9:02 PM
  • Mood: Sweet
  • Reading: Songs of the Humpback Whale -- Judy Picoult
  • Eating: My birthday cake -- :3 yummm
  • Drinking: Milk to wash it down!
So I don't really know what to say. This is mostly just to tell anyone who still visits my page that I'm still alive and kicking and checking back quite frequently. I just haven't had anything new to post since the pen drawings in early June.

Right now I'm just visiting family and taking a bit of a break before I head back to the real world, which, trust me, sometimes feels like more of a vacation than the one I'm on now!

Hope everybody is having an awesome summer!
